Fairness Across Our Entire School System

Fairness is not just a talking point — it is a foundational belief that guides how I approach leadership, decision-making, and service. When we talk about fairness in education, we must look beyond individual classrooms or single schools and consider every school across Bradley County, not just the district I represent.

Every child deserves access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to succeed. That belief applies equally across our entire school system. Fairness ensures that decisions are made based on student needs, merit, and long-term impact — not geography, favoritism, or convenience.

Why Fairness Matters

Historically, favoritism has been a significant challenge in many organizations across our nation — not necessarily within our schools, but throughout businesses and institutions of all kinds. Favoritism undermines trust, damages morale, and prevents systems from functioning at their best.

Our schools should be held to a higher standard. Transparency, consistency, and fairness must guide how resources are distributed, how staff are supported, and how policies are implemented. When fairness leads, confidence in the system grows — and that benefits everyone involved.

Supporting the Entire School Workforce

When I say “staff,” I mean all staff — not just educators.

Our school systems rely on a wide range of dedicated professionals:

  • Janitors who keep our schools safe, clean, and welcoming

  • Bus drivers who safely transport students every day

  • Cafeteria workers who ensure children are nourished and ready to learn

  • Maintenance and operations teams who keep facilities secure and functional

  • Administrative and support staff who keep schools organized and compliant

  • Coaches who mentor students beyond the classroom

  • Counselors who help students navigate academic, emotional, and life challenges

Each role is essential. Fairness means recognizing the value of every position and ensuring that each staff member has the support and respect needed to be effective.

Parents as Essential Partners

Parents are not outsiders in education — they are partners. Families play a critical role in a child’s success, and when parents are supported, informed, and included, students benefit.

A fair system listens to parents, values their input, and works collaboratively to create the best possible learning environment for our children.

One System, Many Pieces — All Important

Our school system is like a puzzle. Every piece matters, and when even one is overlooked, the entire picture suffers. Fairness brings those pieces together — students, staff, parents, and administrators — into a unified, effective system.

This is the leadership I believe in: balanced, transparent, and fair. Leadership that works for every school, every staff member, every parent, and every student across Bradley County.

Because when we support the whole system, our students win.
