Building a Strong Educational Foundation for Our Children

A strong building can only stand if it is built on a solid foundation. The same principle applies to education.

The success of our children—whether they pursue a career, higher education, military service, or skilled trades—begins long before high school graduation. It begins in elementary school, where the foundation for learning, confidence, discipline, and character is formed.

As I shared on Mix 104.1, our children must be rooted in a strong educational foundation to be truly prepared for life. Reading proficiency, basic math skills, problem-solving, communication, and emotional development are not optional—they are essential. When these fundamentals are strong, students are positioned to succeed. When they are weak, students spend years trying to catch up.

Why the Foundation Matters

Elementary education is where:

  • A child learns how to learn

  • Confidence and curiosity are either encouraged or lost

  • Gaps in understanding can be corrected early—or allowed to grow wider

  • Parents and educators establish a partnership that shapes long-term success

In Bradley County’s 4th District, our elementary schools are critical to building that firm foundation. What happens in these classrooms echoes for years to come. If we want students to be college-ready or work-ready by high school, we must ensure they are foundation-ready in their earliest years.

Supporting Educators, Students, and Parents

If elected to the Bradley County School Board, my focus will be on strengthening that foundation by supporting the entire educational team:

Educators and Staff
Our teachers and school staff are on the front lines every day. They deserve the tools, resources, and support necessary to meet students where they are and help them grow. When educators are supported, students thrive.

Our Children
Every child deserves access to the resources, instruction, and encouragement needed to succeed academically and emotionally. A strong foundation builds confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Parents
Education does not stop at the school doors. Parents play a vital role in reinforcing learning at home. Clear communication, accessible resources, and transparency empower families to extend the foundation where it matters most—at home.

Investing Early Is Investing Wisely

Strong schools do not happen by accident. They are built intentionally, starting with the earliest grades. By investing in foundational education, we invest in safer schools, stronger communities, and a brighter future for Bradley County.

This campaign is about more than policies—it’s about people. It’s about ensuring every child in the 4th District has the opportunity to stand on a firm educational foundation and reach their God-given potential.

Together, we can build that foundation—brick by brick.
