Why I am running..
I’m running for the 4th District seat on the Bradley County Board of Education to serve our students, families, and teachers with integrity and accountability. I bring a strong work ethic, Christian values, and real-world experience in financing, board leadership, and ethical decision-making. As a parent with children in our school system and as the current Training Officer for Bradley County Fire Rescue, I’m committed to strengthening education and ensuring a bright future for our community.
As a resident of Bradley County and a proud member of the District 4 community, I am honored to stand for election to the Bradley County Board of Education. With deep roots in our area and a steadfast commitment to our children’s future, I’m running to ensure that every student in our district receives the opportunities and support they deserve.
Background and Experience
I live in the District 4 community right off Minnis Road, and I’ve been actively engaged in our local schools and community for the past several years. I currently serve as the Training Officer for Bradley County Fire and Rescue, where I’ve developed strong skills in leadership, budgeting, finance, and community relations, among others.
In addition to my public service career, I have also spent the last few years serving as a minister, which has deepened my compassion for families, strengthened my faith in community, and reinforced the importance of building genuine friendships and understanding. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama.
These experiences have taught me the value of listening to people, making data-informed and empathetic decisions, and building bridges between families, educators, and administrators to ensure that every voice in our district is heard and respected.
Why I’m Running
I believe our school board has a unique responsibility to help shape the environment where children learn, grow, and prepare for life.
I’m running for the District 4 seat because I want to bring fresh energy and new ideas to the board, while always respecting the great work already being done by our schools and by the current, highly respected Mr. Josh Taylor and his fellow Board Members. One of my top priorities is to eliminate and mitigate the bullying crisis that continues to affect our school system, not necessarily in any particular school or school system but in general as a whole as it is a common problem plaguing the school systems nationwide — in both its physical and mental forms.. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued in their educational journey — not only by their peers, but also by the educators, support staff, and transportation staff who play such an important role in their daily lives.
I believe in transparency, accountability, and open communication. Parents, teachers, staff, and the broader community must all have a voice in shaping our schools. Student safety, retention, and progression is paramount and must never be ignored or compromised.
Finally, I believe that every student — regardless of background, housing situation, financial means, or learning challenges — deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, careers, and life. I want our education system to work for your child and your family.
No child should ever feel resentment or fear about attending school because of a toxic environment, learning challenges, or other unresolved issues. If elected, I will actively investigate and address these concerns, if they arise, to ensure that the schools in the 4th District of Bradley County are safe, supportive, and welcoming places for all students as I know they are and can be from personal experiences of my own having children in these very same school systems.
Likewise, no teacher or staff member should ever feel that their career is a burden or that their dedication is not appreciated. Our educators are the foundation of our children’s success, and they deserve respect, resources, and recognition for the vital role they play in shaping the future of our community. Your child’s voice matters, Your voice matters — and I want to be an extension of that voice.
My Priorities (What I’ll Focus On)
Student Success & Equity:
Every student deserves the opportunity to thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally. I will work to ensure our students have the tools, resources, and encouragement they need to reach their full potential. As both a public servant and a minister, I’ve learned that compassion and consistency can change lives, and I want that same support structure built into every classroom.
Safe & Supportive Schools:
One of my top priorities is to eliminate and mitigate the bullying crisis that could potentially affect our students — in both its physical and mental forms. Every child should feel safe, respected, and valued, not only by their peers but also by educators and transportation staff. Student safety, retention, and progression is paramount and will remain at the heart of every decision I make.
Teacher & Staff Support:
Our teachers and staff are the foundation of student success. I will advocate for ongoing professional development, creative classroom innovation, and policies that ensure every educator and staff member feels respected, supported, and appreciated for the vital work they do.
Fiscal Responsibility & Smart Investments:
As a Training Officer for Bradley County Fire and Rescue, I understand the importance of careful planning, budgeting, and accountability. The board must steward taxpayer dollars wisely — prioritizing classroom impact, infrastructure, technology, transportation, and safety, while maintaining transparency and efficiency in spending.
Community & Family Engagement:
Schools thrive when the community is involved. I will actively seek input from parents, grandparents, teachers, businesses, and faith leaders to ensure our decisions reflect the collective values and needs of District 4. My years serving as a minister have given me a deep compassion for families and the power of listening — qualities I will bring to every conversation and board decision.
Preparing for the Future:
From career and technical education pathways to college readiness, we must help students prepare for success in a rapidly changing world. While all the schools in District 4 are elementary schools, the foundation for future career and college readiness begins here. Early experiences in school—building strong academic skills, curiosity, resilience, and character—set the stage for lifelong learning and success. By focusing on these early years, we give every student the tools they need to thrive beyond graduation.
By focusing on these priorities, I will work to make the schools from District 4 a place where students are excited to learn, teachers are excited to teach, and the community feels connected and invested in education. I am committed to making our schools safe, welcoming, innovative, and rooted in the belief that all students can succeed.
Closing
I humbly ask for your support and your vote this coming election cycle. Together, we can build on our district’s strengths, address our challenges, and ensure that the next generation of Bradley County students is even stronger than the last. Thank you for believing in our children, our schools, and our community.
“Faith, family, and fairness — putting our students and community first.”
